Thailand Adventure

Here begins one hell of a trip, Thailand is beautiful and crazy, relaxing and one hell of a party. I knew that if I couldn't be home for Christmas surrounded by family and friends, what better time to go somewhere I never thought I'd go to and do things I never thought I would do. All of these things are captured in these photos, well almost all of it because lets face it... what happens in Thailand stays in Thailand.
Our journey begins at the Shanghai Airport... being Shanghai I thought this airport would be awesome but sadly it was as the dumbest, weirdest, coldest airport ever.
This is the water machine, you could only get hot water for free.. who wants to have a big glass of refreshing boiling water.

They take all our your lighters away and Kelly was trying to have a smoke... look at the funny lighter contraption in the airport.
Shanghai Pu-dong airport was both full of poo and dong. Dumb airport.

Kelly getting some zzzz's on the plane.

This is the view from our first hotel Tatum Mansion. We had the 5th floor deluxe suit.. the room was fine but the best best best part was we had a balcony.
The other view as well. This is the mountain that Kelly and I watched the moon rise. :p I'm pretty sure I coined that new term.
This is Patong Beach. It was pretty awesome and beautiful and a short 5 minute walk from our hotel. we chose well.

We spent the whole day at the beach. The water was like bath water. We paid for some beach chairs and an umbrella and a man named Nom who would come by and bring us anything that we wanted. If he couldn't get us what we wanted he would find someone who could like all the ladies walking around selling things on the beach.

I got a little burnt on the first day so I spent some money to get lathered up in Aloe Vera... and when I say that it was the fresh plant that she gooped all over me.

The whole group on the beach.

Just me with the view

The beautiful sunset on Patong beach

Mari, Kelly and I with the sunset

all three of us trying to do a cute jumping shot... apparently I'm the only one who can count

Nom getting fresh with Kelly... or maybe Kelly was getting fresh with Nom... Lol
For dinner, since it was Christmas Eve we went to a nice restaurant. The place was called Savoey's, You could choose what sauce you want your sea food in and then you went to pick out the seafood. Mari wanted a fish, Matt and Danielle split a fish and I ate one big giant prawn.
You could choose a whole fish or a fillet.

Here's the sign for the restaurant

All of our seafood is in the basket to be weighed
Here are the prawns

Me choosing a prawn
My delish food. I  ate spring rolls, cashew chicken, and a prawn in Green Thai Curry sauce. I might now have a mild obsession with green thai curry. Its so delish. the coconut milk, with the lemongrass and spicy chili sauce. damn. so flippin good.

this next one is Mari's fillet in a red chili sauce

lanterns in the trees

After dinner we decided to go out and party at Bangla road. This place was crazy. Like a mix of Cancun and Amsterdam all in one.
The road was long, loud and full of chaos. If your looking for a place to party in Patong this is the place to be. This first picture is of a bar complex that was about 3 or 4 stories high.... this was the main place to go if you were looking for a lady bar or a prostitute... but really you didn't need a bar to find a hooker, they were everywhere.
Dragon bar!

a view of the street... filled with people

Mari looking classy in her santa hat

If you look closely in that red room up there you'll see a lady dancing on a pole. They were advertising a ping pong show. Don't get confused, I thought it was a ping pong game... maybe people doing tricks... oh no.... a ping pong show is where girls shove ping pongs in their va-jayjays and shoot them places. I've heard of all sorts of crazy things the ladies put up in there like mice and bottles. I didn't pay to see one of these shows because honestly once you see it you cant un-see it. But I did convince the ping pong show pimptress to let me have a minute sneak peek... and that was when I saw a lady shooting ping pong balls from her who-ha into cups. Oh Thailand.

ladies dancing on the bars.... oh wait do you see on the left that there's a baby dancing up on there. I mean who in their right mind would think this place was a good family vacation spot. Take your babies to Disney world not Thailand .

Prostitutes.

Aweeeeeee, our Thai grandmother. She was walking around selling flower necklaces and she only had two left so we bought them and took a picture with her.

bahaha at this point I had a few too many drinks and I was dancing like this robot man in the street. I thought he looked like a transformer. I was also pretending to be a promoter for the bars and the ping pong show in the street too... oh the many ways I entertain myself.
P.S do you see that Subway sign cuz I totally took a fooling home and ate it for drunk food. There's no Subway in Korea, at least not any close to me, so it was a fresh treat.

Mari and the bartender. She knew how to work it... two British men came over and she was all up on them to buy us drinks. Thank god she did cuz they bought us Jaeger bombs! Couldn't think of something better to drink on Christmas because I guarantee my family was drinking some bombs at home.

Here's a giant size statue of a tiger at the Tiger bar.

Us at seduction club. This place was ridiculous and girls were wayyy out numbered by guys and they were way to touchy, feeling, grabby for my likes. Needless to say I didn't stay there too long.

They next day we spend the day at the beach and then Mari and I went Zorbing!!!!!!! Zorbing is on my bucket list and I totally just checked that one off. Here we are going on our Zorbing adventure.

So Zorbing is where you go into a giant inflatable ball and they push you down a hill. It was awesome. Here's the hills and the track.

Then they bring you up by truck.

Here is Mari and I getting ready to Zorb

The straight down hill, next to it is the curvy hill.

you had to wear a life jacket inside the ball... even though there's only a little bit of water inside.

after the first Zorb experience. It was like nothing I've done before. It kinda felt like being on a water slide except you were inside the water slide.

So after you jump inside they zip you up into the ball

They ball has a smaller chamber on the inside, so its squishy and you slide around in the water on the inside.

There I am jumping in.

And I'm in!

Ahhhhhh! I'm trapped in there.

ready to go down.

They put the cushion in the entrance/exit whole and finish zipping you up.

there I am ready to go down.

Here I go!

Lol, its so funny to look at these pictures it was amazing. Mari and I were the only two there so we got to have many many unlimited rides down.

This is me going down the curvy track. just as your building up speed you would hit the first curve and go flying. So your just inside the ball, splashing around.

Then when your all done you get a truck ride up the hill.

I was so happy! The guy in the truck thought Mari and I were pretty crazy!

At the end they let us race! Mari won but she went down the straight one and I went down the bumpy one.

Oh the beautiful sunset.

yum yum yum. Real pad Thai.

A Thai temple
The next day we left Patong and went off to Koh Pi Pi Island

Even the views from the shuttle boat was beautiful.

While I was looking for a bungalow to sleep in I ran into this Thai guy laying in a hammock with his baby money. Could you imagine that life?

Kelly and I stayed in a bungalow for two nights. I could see the beach from our front porch. Pretty awesome if you ask me.

here's our shower, it was like showering outside.

and the bathroom... I tried taking one of those cool bathroom mirror selfies. Worked like a champ.

Bungalow road.  You can see the blue from the water through the last bungalows porch.

and here's the beach! Koh Pi Pi beach.

So beautiful and soooo aqua blue.

Thai boats

I have about 3,000 photos of the beach but I chose a few for the blog. I couldn't help myself. But the best beach is yet to come.

Buckets on the beach. I'm pretty sure I started the term "bucket up" on this trip. Every time someone would say oh I cant drink someone would yell bucket up to them.

At night there was a fire show on the beach. they were twirling fire, rings of fire, jump ropes on fire. Lots of fire. you could jump but I stayed away from that shit because getting burnt is a good way to put a damper on your vacation.

At night it just turns into one big crazy party on the beach. Lots of dancing, and drinking buckets. So much fun. The only one complaint I could have about living in the bungalows by the beach is that the music was so loud your bed would vibrate all the way until 4am.... it was a good thing we never tried to sleep before that.

The next day we had a relaxing beach day.

Here's a picture of Thai Hercules. He lived by our bungalow. :) I just wanted to take him inside and cuddle him all night long... I didn't but I really really wanted to.

For sunset we hiked it up to the lookout point. Koh Pi Pi is shaped like a hand weight. With two larger pieces of land on the far sides and then there are two beaches on the inside area where it gets skinny.

Me with the view.

Kelly with the view

hiking up the pathway. It was nice on the way up but on the way down after sunset the mosquitoes were out in full force.... I mean swarms.

Kelly and I walking together.

we walked up to the second view point and there was a much more epic view from there.

sooooo crazy beautiful.
For dinner we are street food. Chicken skewers and pineapple fried rice. Yum.

This was the magic bucket hut with our new friends. This lady made the best mango strawberry bucket ever and only for 200 baht, which is like 7 dollars. The one on my right was named Jacob, He was from Israel, he was so cute.

and again with just us ladies by the bucket hut.

Kelly loving her Bucket.

This is the Muy Thai fighting bar. Where if your friends were crazy enough... or drunk enough they could fight and you could watch. Well, we decided to go in... and Mari was trying to convince Kelly or I to fight. There was no way I was gonna fight. I'm a lover not a fighter.

Here's a picture of the bar during the day.
Kelly and I laughing at all these fighting shenanigans.

this guy just won his match.

There two were Irish.

Have you fought yet! Not I but apparently Mari decided she was gonna fight. She's a tough Brazilian girl, so I knew she would be able to hold her own.

She was a little nervous, I cant blame her.

OMG, I was a coach. I've never even seen a Rocky movie... and I know nothing about fighting my only advice was block your face and move your feet. After the first round Mari had a bloody nose. I would have tapped out but she kept on going.

Mari is in the blue, the other girl totally had some training cuz she knew what she was doing.

I think this was close to the end of the fight. Mari got kicked in the face. It was intense.

this is the end. Mari won the second round but the other girl won overall.

After fight shot. After that we went back to dance on the beach. Since Mari fought she got a free bucket and for some reason the Irishman gave me a bucket (don't worry I'm smart, it wasn't a roofie filled bucket) But three bucket nights make for hard mornings. Specially when you have a 9 hour boat trip ahead of you in the morning.

Here's the Thai boat we rented for the day.

We made it to Maya Beach. this is where the movie "the beach" was shot. It was really pretty but crazy busy so we didn't stay too long.

Me at Maya Beach.

Kelly and I at Maya beach

The boats look so scenic in the water.

After a while we went to our next stop: snorkeling.

Look there I am snorkeling! I was kinda horrified but I did it. I actually enjoyed it until the boat driver threw food into the water and the fish were swarming me. I literally was screaming through my snorkel. He was laughing and I was terrified. But the parrot fish were pretty and the other colorful fish swimming around.

After snorkeling we went to monkey island. But it was a monkeyless beach. I cant say I was overly saddened that the monkeys weren't there... I've heard that they hit you and try to steal your stuff.

Monkey beach was very beautiful even without the monkeys.

We left monkey beach and headed to Bamboo Island.

Here is my favorite island we were at. It was further out, there was only a few people there and it had the most beautiful blue, green, aqua water and the softest, white sand that felt like flour. We stayed here until sunset, honestly I could have spent the rest of the time at this island. I mean you really could camp on the beach and I wish I would have done that because it was amazing there. It was a perfect get away from the busy party of Koh Pi Pi.

Absolute paradise... these pictures don't even do it justice.

Toes on the beach.

I wanted this to be my new home.... maybe for a day or two.

Our boat in the distance.

Me on Bamboo Beach.

Me with the beach and the water and the boat!

Danielle and I in our Thai boat.

Danielle, Me, and Mari

The sun setting on the water.

Matt being brave and strong, climbing up the island to jump off into the water. For real that took some mad man muscle.

At the top ready to jump.

and in the water!

The sunset on the water.

That's a beach that I want to be on!

Thai tiger on the beach.

Here are the streets of Koh Pi Pi

In Thailand its some sort of tradition or thing to buy a bird to set free. Pretty much its a total scam because the birds are trained to fly back... but I took a picture and kept my money instead. :)

These little cuties were our friends. She was showing us her nice computer.

More of the hood.

This is the art store that I bought my Thailand painting in. Its those cute little elephants right in this picture. I was going to buy one with the Thai boats in it but I felt as if it was a bit lame because so many people had the same painting in all the shops. But These elephants were perfect.

Here's the art shop from the outside.

This island was so beautiful.

The Thai writing is so pretty looking.

More of the streets.

This little guy was our entertainment for the shuttle ride back to Phuket Old Town before we had to get on the plane back home. He was feeding us chocolate crispy cereal and pretending to fall asleep while eating the cereal.

Michael, Your mom would have loved all  these pretty little hair things.

A Thai gate.

This was the last supper of Thailand. I was awfully h'angry and I literally walked down the road, saw this place that looked like a shed full of Thai people and it was super busy. So with that said I decided we were going to eat there because if it was busy and full of Thai people it much be delish. It was honestly the best meal we ate the whole time. We had Thai green curry, cashew chicken and mixed vegetables. Omg, I could have eaten about 20 plates of each. It was amazing.

This is a picture of the front of the restaurant.

Our final goodbye to Thailand was to get a Thai massage. I got a foot and shoulder massage. Its always so embarrassing when I get massages because I'm so very ticklish. I kept kicking and squirming the whole time. She just kept laughing at me. :)

Oh Kelly, Her first Thai massage the lady tried to give her a happy ending... with our final massage... it might look like a girl but her massage  was from a lady boy. At least he was nice and strong.

A Thai Tuk Tuk

After that we made our way back to the airport and flew back to Korea. :)
