The cave of wonders

This day during break Yaja, Hez and I decided to take a trip to Ulsan. Ulsan is a city about 45 minutes east of Busan. Rita gave me the 4-11 that there was a silly cave with all sorts of odd things in it and we decided... WHY NOT! After our train ride in and a taxi to the cave we finally arrived. Outside of the cave was a circus like atmosphere. Rides, games, sledding, horses, you name it and it was there to enjoy. The place was pretty old school but had quiet a unique character.

Here's our dinosaur! Im pretty sure most of the Koreans thought we were being strange Foreigners riding on the kid stuff... but heck, we enjoyed it.

This is your first glimpse into the cave of wonders. It is not like any other cave experience I've ever had. Most of the caves I have experienced in the states tries to preserve the natural beauty and formations of the cave. There you usually get some education on caves and it more of a sciencey- so- to- speak thing to do.... well not so much in Korea! The first thing we went to see was the Chinese acrobat show inside the caves auditorium. Music, acrobatics and plate spinning are not a usual thing to see inside of a cave but I thought it was a nice addition.

After the show we started to explore the cave.
HAHAHAH ET SANTA! and some man made work works.

Here's a pretty dragon painting! I'm sure some ancient Korean cave men made that masterpiece.

So the cave is an amethyst cave... we saw a few bits of amethyst throughout the cave... this one looked like a turtle and was near the stature of the goat eating some greens in the cave.

This is the map of the cave and a waterfall!

Yes, that's right folks, you can take a motorized boat tour of the inside of the cave aswell! Don't worry we totally did it and there is photo proof at the end of this blog. :)

And now is where the real fun begins. Inside the cave is an Egyptian exhibit. WTF?

There were a few other plastic
mummies, I knew they were plastic because I TOUCHED THEM!

Dinosaurs are my favorite!
This part of the cave was specifically dedicated to the evolution of man. first we were cavemen.

Then we started standing and using tools

Then we started punching people.

Our final evolution was into technology and cell phones. Here we are fully evolved talking on our cell phones. HILARIOUS.

Yay, Korea's flag and a miniature of Dockdo Island

This was up the Buddha temple walk

Beautiful lanterns on the ceiling!

Buddha! annnnd a heated floor in the cave!

paintings on the caves wall.

We decided to go on the awesome "high speed" boat ride in the caves waters. At  this point I was blown away by the utter lack of conservation for the cave... but when your in Korea you just go with it! So instead of trying to get all environmentally conscious about the ecology of the cave I just went in the damn boat.

Us three ladies cuddled up in our life vests.

We were like a cute bunch of sailors.

Its an action shot!

Our boat driver, he was highly experienced in navigating the cave. He even spun us around a few dozen times.

On our way back we missed our train so while we waited the 40 minutes for the next train, we decided to have a photo shoot.
